About Bergamot and Flow
How this independent Suffolk based business is making self care accessible, one aromatherapy oil at a time!
Like many people, I started playing with the idea of essential oils without really knowing what they were all about. I liked that they smelled nice and that was about it really. A friend from work gave me some to try and I was hooked straight away! The more I played around with them in different combinations and strengths, the more I realised how much they could affect the way I felt and could even change my mood. After looking into the science behind it, I became fascinated that aromatic anchoring was something we all experienced, probably daily, but that we didn’t use it to our advantage.
I started making up little roller bottles as pure-fumes initially, again because they smelled lovely (and I love a cute little bottle!). As time went on I decided that I wanted to make something a little more meaningful.
I was regularly practicing yoga and I felt the two worlds (gently) collided rather nicely, so I researched the properties of essential oils and found a way to create aromatherapy oil blends that I could use in my practice. My first ever chakra set was born! It looks a little bit different now, rather more aesthetically pleasing I like to think, but the concept is still the same – aromatherapy oils that can enhance the emotions and essence of each energy point as we work through the chakras. These days I don’t confine them only to yoga practices, I use them every day!
Time went on and I wanted to make more aromatherapy oils so I started to think about how I could make different blends for different emotions or needs – uplifting, calming, energising and relaxing – I managed to find oils that were perfect for these situations and more! I came to understand that what worked for me worked for many others too.
